Christy L. Shaffer, PhD, has over 25 years of experience in the life science industry as a clinical scientist, international project leader, Associate Director of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Burroughs Wellcome Co, and President and CEO, of Inspire Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Merck in 2011). Dr. Shaffer has dedicated herself to helping enhance entrepreneurship and innovation in RTP and North Carolina. Christy’s current day job is as the Managing Director of Hatteras Discovery, Hatteras Venture Partners in Durham, NC.
